Thibault VASSE

Thibault conducts macroeconomic and country risk analyses for a portfolio of six countries across Africa, Latin America, and Central Asia: Angola, Benin, Morocco, Togo, Dominican Republic and Uzbekistan.

He also contributes to AFD’s work on integrating climate and biodiversity risks into country risk assessments and debt sustainability analyses for emerging and developing countries. He is involved in research projects on financial market biases and the macroeconomic risks associated with biodiversity loss.

Before joining AFD in 2024, Thibault spent five years as an economist and public sector analyst within the “Sovereign and Public Sector” team at Scope Ratings, where he worked on credit ratings, research, and methodology development.

He was also a public policy analyst at the OECD Development Centre, focusing on the economic analysis of emerging countries and public policies promoting private sector development and attractiveness.
